The exam of last term of China IP distance education was finished on December 31, 2007. Since April 10, 2007 when the program started, 6,673 trainees had graduated from the program till the end of 2007.

There are seven courses in the program for trainees from various circles of the society, including 721 people attended the course of Basis of IP Laws, 404 attended the Patent Literature Information and Searching, 339 attended the Copyright Law, 337 the International IPR Protection, 320 the Anti-Unfair Competition and 444 the Practice of Patent Agent. What is more, there was also a video program for IP and IP System course, attracting 904 trainees. In addition to these, 3,164 people from colleges also chose the distance courses.

In 2007, there were four universities having course of Basis of IP Laws, with 2,653 in Beijing University of Aviation and Aerospace (BUAA), 78 in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUCT), 112 in East-China Jiao Tong University and 321 in Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University.Meanwhile, IP distance education in China's universities saw a rapid development in 2007. In BUAA, for example, Basis of IP Law became a compulsory subject for its junior students, so some 3,000 students studied the course on internet in 2007. So the Training Center of SIPO set up a branch station in BUAA, registered a special website and designed a new home page for BUAA students.

Later on, the Training Center adopted the BUAA model to other universities, and now other four universities, including HUCT, applied the same platform as BUAA. In November 2007, the first local IP Distance Education Branch out of Beijing was set up in Henan Province.
