No. 132 SIPO Notice declared recently releases details about China Patent Agent Qualification Test in this May, such as registration, examination, requirements on each test sites, review and training for candidates, as well as matters concerning participants in Hong Kong and Macau.

 

The registration for test will be between May 12 and June 10 in provincial, municipal or autonomous regional IP administration, and candidates have to know well with patent law and the relevant law knowledge.

 

On November 1-2, 2008 the test will be carried out simultaneously in following 12 cities: Beijing, Hohhot, Shenyang, Shanghai, Hefei, Jinan, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Guiyang, Xi'an and Lanzhou.

 

The 2008 test papers are made by SIPO based on the 2008 Outline of China Patent Agent Qualification Test, the same with the previous year. The candidates have to take three subjects in the test: patent law, relevant law knowledge as well as patent agent practice.

 

After the test, SIPO will release the reference answers to patent law and relevant law knowledge parts of the test for hearing opinions from the public within a certain period of time for further study. SIPO will publicize the patent agent practice part and example essays after issuing the Certificate of Patent Agent of the People's Republic of China.

 

It is known from the announcement that those passing registration for the test from Hong Kong and Macau are supposed to register, pay test fee and claim the admission ticket at Guangzhou before October 31, 2008.
