Recently, State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) declared relevant statistics of its website in 2007, saying that 3.24 visits to SIPO's website in the year represents a 49 percent increase compared with that in 2006, and the page browsing amounts to 950 million times, a 116 percent jump. Readers are from 7.98 million IP addresses, 7.1 percent more, while articles published on the website are 216, 86, witnessing a 37 percent growth. All of these means that in 2007, the official IP website achieves dramatic progress in functioning as platform releasing IP information, providing services and communicating with the public, and being a portal to SIPO.

 

The daily visits to the website is 8.89 million, page browsing each day is 2.62 million, while the IP addresses are about 22 thousand per day, and 59 articles are uploaded every day at average. In addition, visits to its English edition reach 18.95 millions from 550 thousand IP addresses. The webpage browsing, 7.38 million in 2007, is 11 times of that in 2006.

 

The statistics shows that domestic visitors take 96 percent of the total, in which visitors from Beijing, Tianjin, and Guangdong takes 60%. Visitors from Europe, Japan, and Singapore are the majority of overseas readers.

 

More detailed statistics indicates the website's patent search is clicked 1.21 billion times, an increase of 109 percent, and the page browsing counts up to 560 million times, 155 percent. As for search by IPC, section A(HUMAN NECESSITIES), B(PERFORMING OPERATIONS; TRANSPORTING), and H(ELECTRICITY) are more popular.

 

Webpage of SIPO Planning and Development Department, General Affaires Office, and Coordination and Administration Department have more visits than others, and among all local IP websites of the official IP website, Shaan'xi, Jiangsu and Hunan have more visits. Among all columns on SIPO website, On-line Interview, Patent Affairs Report, and Important News are most favorable by readers.
