On the afternoon of April 11, SIPO holds the 2008 Information Release Conference. More than 50 representatives from some foreign embassies in China, foreign investment organizations and enterprises participate in the conference. Heads of the International Cooperation Department, Legal Affairs Department, Planning and Development Department and other departments of SIPO introduce to participants the modification of China’s Patent Law, administrative law-enforcement activities for patent protection, the situations of patent application and grant, reexamination and invalid procedures of patent cases, the formulation of the national IP strategy and various measures adopted in IP-related work.

The head of related departments also answer questions from participants, and make corresponding replies to useful suggestions put forward by participants.

According to the head of SIPO International Cooperation Department, SIPO holds such conference every year to increase the transparency of its work and learn more opinions and suggestions to SIPO from people from all walks of life, so as to better improve various working mechanisms, raise working efficiency and supply better services to patent applicants at home and abroad.
