Recently, SIPO Deputy Commissioner Li Yuguang meets the visiting French senator Richard Yung and his party. Both parties exchange views on Sino-French and Sino-European cooperation in IP sector and topics of common interest.

During the meeting, Mr. Li first expresses his welcome to Mr. Yung and his party, and speaks highly of his efforts and contributions in promoting the fruitful cooperation between SIPO and European Patent Office (EPO) when he was responsible for international cooperation affairs in EPO. Mr. Li also briefs on the third modification of China’s Patent Law.

For his part, Mr. Richard Yung expresses his thanks for arranging the meeting. During his introduction, he stresses on the latest information of the development of European IP system, especially the great progress made in resolving the problems of language and translation of European patents and the situation of European patent jurisdiction.

Both parties agree that with the constant development of Sino-French and Sino-European exchanges in trade, culture and science and technology, the bilateral friendships will be further deepened and the bilateral cooperation in IP sector will be enhanced.
