Yang Tiejun Attends the IP-Related Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Beijing

On the Morning of April 20, the First Exhibition of 100 Chinese Famous Calligraphers and Artists’ IP Culture-Related Works and Election of IP Cultural Ambassadors is held by SIPO in Beijing. SIPO Deputy Commissioner Yang Tiejun cuts the ribbon at the opening of the exhibition and delivers a speech.

Mr. Yang points out that by holding the IP culture-related painting and calligraphy exhibition and electing IP cultural ambassadors, SIPO means to strengthen IP cultural construction and promote IPR protection of painting and calligraphy works. He indicates that through the activity, the whole society should widely promote the IP cultural concepts centered with “respecting knowledge, advocating innovation and being honest and law-abiding.” Meanwhile, he hopes the IP cultural ambassadors could make joint efforts with IP administrations of all levels to create a sound innovation environment and atmosphere, so as to enable China’s painting and calligraphy art to be developed in innovation, and promote the comprehensive development of IPR protection.

This exhibition and the election of IP cultural ambassadors is an important event of 2008 National IPR Protection Publicity Week. Works of more than 100 famous Chinese calligraphers and artists are displayed at the exhibition, and 50 calligraphers and artists with national representativeness are appointed as China IP Cultural Ambassadors. They are expected to make efforts to promote IP culture and safeguard the basic rights and interests of painting and calligraphy artists in China.
