On the morning of June 16, SIPO Deputy Commissioner He Hua meets Engr Abdullah S. Almazroa, Director of the Technology Examination Department of the Gulf Cooperation Council Patent Office (GCCPO) and his party, exchanging views on related issues such as information retrieval and patent examination.

Mr. He first expresses his welcome to GCCPO delegation on behalf of SIPO. He points out that SIPO maintains long-term and friendly cooperation with GCCPO and hopes to improve the patent examination capacities of both offices through exchanges between examiners. Mr. He hopes the two offices can strengthen cooperation and exchanges to continue launching projects deeply and extensively.

Mr. Engr Abdullah S. Almazroa notes that after the Memorandum of Understanding Between SIPO and Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CGG) is signed on December 20, 2006, the two offices maintain sound cooperation. He hopes to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with SIPO in more aspects and proposes to initiate exchange visits of experts in areas like patent.

During GCCPO delegation’s stay in China, SIPO will supply post trainings to patent examiners of GCCPO on information retrieval and examination.
