SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu recently meets Dr. Ulrich Deeg and Dr. Michael Doerr, visiting senior experts of chemistry from German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), exchanging views on issues of both concerns in patent sector.

Mr. Tian reviews the history of long-term friendly cooperation between China and Germany in IP sector and hopes the two experts can discuss with Chinese related personnel on their examination experience with concrete cases during their academic visit in China. The German experts convey DPMA President Dr. Jurgen Schade's greetings to Mr. Tian and vow to introduce their advanced experience in their work to their Chinese counterparts.

Previously, the German experts also give a special lecture for SIPO examiners of chemistry. According to the 2008 working plan signed by SIPO and DPMA, China and Germany will launch the program of patent examiner exchange visits this year. As the first batch of experts reaching China for the program, Dr. Deeg and Dr. Doerr possess abundant examination experience.
