SIPO Organizes and Launches Researches on a CPPCC Key Proposal

Recently, an investigation group, consisting of related people from SIPO, Proposal Handling Office of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Ministry of Finance and proposers is established to conduct special researches on the proposal of establishing and improving the aid system of IPR maintenance in some regions in China made by Chen Yatang, Member of the CPPCC National Committee, in his Proposal on Establishing IPR Legal Aid System.

The investigation group reaches Chongqing, Jiangsu, Hubei, Xinjiang and other regions in late July and early August to conduct the special researches on establishing and perfecting aid system of IPR maintenance. Through holding symposiums, discussions and interviews, the investigation group has face-to-face exchanges with enterprises, institutions, courts and agencies. Most of them indicate that it is very urgent and necessary to organize and launch the work of aiding IPR maintenance, which is conducive to strengthening IPR protection and supporting and cultivating IPR agency market. The system can help China’s enterprises and institutions improve the capacities of dealing with foreign-related IPR disputes. Based on these opinions and suggestions, the investigation group will submit a report on increasing financial investment and effectively launching the work of aiding IPR maintenance to the CPPCC Committee for Handling Proposals, Ministry of Finance and SIPO.

The Proposal on Establishing IPR Legal Aid System suggests integrating the public service resources of IPR legal aid and increasing investment to IPR legal aid. The proposal is closely related to the work of assisting IPR protection, which is being operated by SIPO, with high reference value. Approved by CPPCC Proposal Handling Office and Ministry of Finance, SIPO handles the proposal as one of the key proposals.
