SIPO Deputy Commissioner Li Yuguang meets with the visiting Vice Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mr. Grebelnyk Oleksandr and his party in Beijing on the morning of October 22. Both parties exchange views on IP cooperation between China and Ukraine and other issues of common concern.

Mr. Li first expresses his welcome to Mr. Grebelnyk Oleksandr and his party. During the meeting, Mr. Li recalls the cooperation in IP sector between China and Ukraine and introduces the situation of SIPO and the experience of Olympic IPR protection. He points out that SIPO attach constant importance to its cooperation with Ukraine in IP sector and the visit of Ukraine delegation will play a positive role in strengthening IP cooperation between the two countries.

Mr.Grebelnyk Oleksandr expresses his thanks for Mr. Li's friendly meeting. He exchanges views with Chinese side on the problems of IPR protection that might emerge in large-scale sports events. Talking about IP cooperation between the two countries, he notes that there is a huge development potential in the area of IPR protection between China and Ukraine and he hopes to continue to strengthen cooperation with Chinese side in IPR protection, actively promote IP authorities of the two countries to sign memorandum of understanding of patent cooperation and establish a Sino-Ukrainian IP Working Group.

In November 2002, China and Ukraine sign the agreement on intergovernmental IP cooperation. On December 4, 2007, Mr. Chebotaryov Valentin, Deputy Chairman of the State Department of Intellectual Property of Ukraine visits China, and reaches consensus with Chinese side in patent cooperation.
