On the afternoon of November 4, SIPO Deputy Commissioner Yang Tiejun meets with Toshimichi Moriya, the visiting official of Japan Patent Information Organization and his party. They have exchanges and communications on issues related to patent information and machine translation system.

Mr. Yang expresses his welcome to Toshimichi Moriya and his party, and briefs on SIPO patent information and machine translation system. Mr. Yang points out that for more than 20 years, SIPO patent information construction has made great progresses in the process of constructing China's patent information resource base and conveniently and rapidly providing high-quality professional patent information resources. Currently, SIPO machine translation system is being tried and assessed by domestic and foreign users. He notes that SIPO will improve the service quality of the system through channels of using natural language to process new technologies and optimize translation engine and constantly upgrading vocabulary. Meanwhile, he hopes SIPO could strengthen cooperation with Japanese side so as to make machine translation system better serve the domestic and overseas users.
Toshimichi Moriya
Toshimichi Moriya introduces related information on the Japanese Patent Information Organization, saying that with a history of more than 20 years, the Organization, as a service window of Japan Patent Office, is responsible for popularizing patent information. Machine translation is one of its major research topics. He hopes to launch active cooperation with SIPO so as to share patent information across borders.
