Sponsored by SIPO and State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), the International Forum on Patent Protection and Public Health ---- Medicine Innovation and Accessibility is held in Beijing. SIPO Deputy Commissioner Zhang Qin and SFDA Deputy Commissioner Wu Zhen participate in the forum and deliver speeches.

Experts and scholars from countries including Argentina, Thailand and the United States, international organizations such as the World Health Organization and some NGOs are invited to the forum. They have warm discussion on topics such as patent protection and medicine accessibility, patent protection and medicine innovation, and patent and public health.

The Forum is jointly organized by SIPO Protection and Coordination Department, China Center for Pharmaceutical International Exchange and SIPO Development and Research Center. Representatives from Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Technology, Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, the Supreme People's Court, Development Research Center of the State Council and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences attend the Forum. About 100 people including representatives from Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law and Huazhong University of Science and Technology and some domestic and overseas medicine enterprises participate in the Forum.
