On December 9, SIPO Deputy Commissioner He Hua meets with Bruce Sewell, the visiting Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Intel Corporation and his party in Beijing. Both parties exchange views on IPR in amiable and friendly atmosphere.

Mr. He first expresses his welcome to Mr. Sewell and his party, and introduces the main responsibilities of SIPO. He points out that SIPO shoulders the important responsibility of implementing the Compendium on China National IP Strategy. The Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference of the National IP Strategy Implementation Work is recently held in Beijing. Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan participates in the conference. SIPO is the leading unit of organizing the joint conference. Mr. He says that the work of implementing the national IP strategy is a long-term course. Through carrying out the national IP strategy, we hope to make progress in some specific works, and enhance the IPR awareness of the whole society. Mr. He indicates that SIPO would like to launch exchanges with Intel in areas such as patent examiner training program.

Bruce Sewell expresses his appreciation to the achievements made by SIPO in patent examination. He notes that Intel would like to strengthen exchanges with SIPO in terms of the third modification to China's Patent Law and patent examiner training program.
