SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu is recently awarded the Honorary Doctor Degree by Technical University of Munich (TUM) at the Degree Awarding Ceremony grandly held in German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) in Munich, Germany.
At the ceremony, TUM awards the Doctor Degree Certificate to Mr. Tian. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tian expresses his gratitude to TUM for awarding him the honorary doctor degree. He stresses that TUM awarding the doctor degree to him means not only his personal honor, but also the high recognition to China's IP system.
DPMA President Dr. Jurgen Schade, TUM President Prof. Walfgang A.Herrmann, head of Economic Department of TUM and head of Munich Labor and Economy Bureau deliver speeches at the ceremony, speaking highly of the achievements made by China in establishing and improving IP system in the past 30 years and fully affirming Mr. Tian's efforts in boosting the development of China's IP cause and actively promoting IP cooperation between China and Germany and his high attainments in IP research.
More than 100 celebrities in IP circle in Germany such as Raimund Lutz, President of the Federal Patent Court, Joseph Straus, former Director of the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law, and Chairman of the Managing Board of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center, and Norbert Haugg, former President of DPMA, as well as Yang Huiqun, Consul General of China in Munich, representatives from European Patent Office, and Gan Shaoning, Director of SIPO General Affairs Office participate in the awarding ceremony.
