Zhang Qin Meets with Assistant Governor of Jiangsu Province in Beijing

On December 16, SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu and Deputy Commissioner He Hua meet with Xu Nanping, Assistant Governor of Jiangsu Province and his party in Beijing.

After the meeting, SIPO Deputy Commissioner Zhang Qin holds talks with Mr. Xu. Both parties have in-depth exchanges on issues such as the establishment of the cooperation consultation mechanism between SIPO and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government.

Mr. Zhang fully affirms the IP work of Jiangsu Province and expresses his appreciation to the working goal of establishing the demonstration province of IP strategy implementation put forward by Jiangsu Provincial Government. Mr. Zhang notes that implementing IP strategy is an important deployment made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in the new era. Vice Premier Wang Qishan puts forward his high expectation and requirements to the work of IP strategy implementation at the first inter-ministerial joint conference on the implementation of the national IP strategy not long ago.

Mr. Zhang points out that Jiangsu is a big province of foreign trade with developed manufacture industry and abundant scientific and educational resources. These are the sound bases of implementing IP strategy. He hopes that Jiangsu Province can make more exploration in areas such as IP working system, regime and policy, striving for making breakthroughs so as to provide more reference experience of IP strategy implementation for various regions.

Mr. Xu notes that Jiangsu Province attaches great importance to IP work. The Compendium on Jiangsu IP Strategy has been passed by the executive meeting of the provincial government recently and will be issued for implementation. Jiangsu Province will actively implement IP strategy with unprecedented determination, efforts and measures. Mr. Xu hopes to further strengthen the guiding roles of IP in sci-tech and economic work through establishing the cooperation consultation mechanism so as to improve IP's public service capacity of Jiangsu Province, enhance its international competitiveness by utilizing IP system, foster more enterprises with the advantage of independent IPRs for Jiangsu, and construct Jiangsu from a big IP province into an IP power.

Both parties also have in-depth exchanges on the agreement framework and detailed contents of the cooperation consultation mechanism. Gan Shaoning, Director of SIPO General Affairs Office and related heads from the Protection and Coordination Department, Patent Affairs Administration Department and Preliminary Examination and Flow Management Department of SIPO Patent Office attend the talks.
