On the afternoon of December 19, SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu discusses the development of China's IP cause during the 30 years of the country's reform and opening up to the outside world at the BBS of www.people.com.cn.

During the discussion, Mr. Tian reviews the development road of China's IP cause during the past 30 years. Talking about the popularization of the concept of IP, Mr. Tian points out that we must realize that IP has its value and the establishment of patent, trademark and copyright systems has exerted profound influences to common people. IP is an internationalized system. Every country and enterprise should participate in economic globalization and understand and skillfully utilize the system. Only by doing this can we know how to better protect our rights and interests within the scope of the international rules when problems occur.

 

Mr. Tian says that the issuance of the Compendium on China National IP Strategy indicates China's determination of taking on the road of independent innovation and establishing an innovative country. In this regard, we should supply strong support for innovation. IP cause includes not only IPR protection, but also IPR creation, utilization and transformation into production forces. The implementation of China's national IP strategy provides a sound systematic platform for the construction of China's national innovation system and the improvement of the innovation awareness of the whole society.
