Knowing that Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (Huawei) ranks No.1 in PCT patent application worldwide in 2008, SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu sends a congratulation letter to the company.

 

Mr. Tian indicates that the number of PCT applications is regarded as an important index measuring a country's technological position, which can directly influence a country's strength in the corresponding technology field. Huawei's win in the patent competition raises Chinese enterprises' international image. Meanwhile, Huawei also demonstrates, through its own efforts, that the road of independent innovation as well has abundant opportunities for China's enterprises. Mr. Tian hopes that an increasing number of Chinese enterprises can follow Huawei's road of independent innovation to the world stage and achieve success.
