IPR Assistance Hotline "12330" Will Open Soon

 

The national IPR assistance hotline "12330" will open during this year's National IPR Publicity Week. The State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) will host an opening ceremony in Beijing.

 

According to the Notice of the State Council on the Establishment of Advisory and Coordinating Organs, the IPR assistance centers distributed throughout this country will receive reporting and complaints on IPR infringement cases and will transfer the cases to related departments.

 

The IPR assistance center will receive any unit or individual's reporting or complaint on IPR infringement and violations. The center will also give feedback to informants after handing over the cases to related administrative organs or public security organ.

 

The legal aid services of the IPR protection include: providing information concerning laws and regulations, procedures and legal status of the application for authorization, dispute settlement, lawsuit consultation and recommendation of services agency of the IPR; providing advices for reference on judgment of the IPR infringement and ensuing evaluation of claim payments; jointly working with agencies concerned to develop and design reasonable solutions for the major foreign-related IPR disputes; organizing research and discussion and providing consultative advices for complicated IPR cases, abusing the IPR cases and non-infringement lawsuits; organizing and providing IPR analysis and proof and IPR early-warning services for significant research and development, economy and trade, investment and technological transfer; and organizing and providing prompt legal status inquiry and infringement judgment services for major sports events, cultural activities, exhibitions, expositions and related matters of IPR protection stipulated by the Customs.

 

The legal aid services of the IPR protection aim at Chinese citizens and legal persons who can't afford the cost of dispute and lawsuits due to financial difficulties, and Chinese citizens, legal persons and organizations who are stuck in IPR matters or cases. The applicator may apply for the legal aid services to the Intellectual Property Assistance Centers at his/her or the opposing party's registered permanent residence, habitual residence or the location where the infringement behavior occurs.

 

Up to now, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) has approved the establishment of 46 IPR assistance centers.
