Tian Lipu: China to Promote IP Strategy from Nine Aspects

 

China has recently introduced the Scheme on Promoting the Implementation of National Intellectual Property in 2009 and nailed down 240 specific measures from nine aspects, revealed by Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu at the WIPO Inter-regional High-Level Forum on Intellectual Property held in Beijing on March 30.

 

In accordance with this Scheme, the implementation of IP strategy will lay emphasis on two aspects: one is to strengthen IPR legal environment, administrative capacity and public education; and the other is to take measures to cope with the international financial crisis.

 

The 240 specific measures listed in the Scheme mainly cover nine aspects, namely, enhancing IPR creation, encouraging IPR industrialization, speeding up the construction of IPR legal system, improving IPR enforcement, strengthening IPR administrative management, developing IPR intermediary services, cultivating IPR talents, promoting IPR cultural development and expanding foreign exchanges and cooperation.
