Shen Changyu Meets with WIPO Director General Francis Gurry and Signed Agreement

 

Recently, Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) attended the Fifty-Fourth Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and met with Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO and signed agreement.

Shen Changyu introduced some new developments of intellectual property rights in China and reviewed the friendly cooperation between SIPO and WIPO since the beginning of this year. Shen Changyu expressed that SIPO will support Director General Gurry and his management team's work as before, and take an active part in the exchanges and cooperation under the framework of WIPO and hoped that WIPO could continue to support the development of China's intellectual property rights.

Gurry spoke highly of the great achievement of China's intellectual property rights and expressed hopes for deepening cooperation with China in the future.

After the meeting, the two sides singed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation between SIPO and WIPO and the Work Plan for the 2014 to 2015 Biennium for Cooperation between SIPO and WIPO. The above agreements bear great significance on the long-term friendly cooperation between the two sides in the future.

Zhang Maoyu, Deputy Commissioner of the Patent Office of SIPO also attended the above activities.
