Shen Changyu Meets Singaporean Ambassador Loh Ka Leung in Beijing

 

Recently, SIPO Commissioner Shen Changyu met with the delegation led by Loh Ka Leung, Singaporean Ambassador to China, in Beijing.

Mr. Shen said that China and Singapore had been in a friendly bilateral relationship since their establishment of diplomatic relations. Since the SIPO and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Cooperation Framework between the State Intellectual Property Office of China and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore on February 9, 2004, in Beijing, the two sides have been engaged in fruitful cooperation on high-level exchange, personnel training, information sharing, and the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH). The SIPO attaches great importance to the cooperation between the two sides on the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, willing to launch a pilot project on comprehensive reform of intellectual property right protection and services in the Knowledge City. He hopes that Singapore will support the project.

Mr. Loh said that 2015 would be the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, and that the two countries had been engaged in fast-growing, broad-based, in-depth, and constantly renewed cooperation during the past 24 years. He said that the two countries were improving their cooperation on intellectual property, and that Singapore would like to support the pilot project in Guangzhou. He said that he hoped to see the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City would become an important area of cooperation between the SIPO and the IPOS, and that the two sides would proactively conduct relevant work.
