On May 20, the series of high-level meetings among the world's largest five IP offices (IP5) kicked off in Suzhou City, during which time the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Commissioner Shen Changyu and the European Patent Office (EPO) President Benoit Battistelli held a talk.

Shen Changyu said as SIPO and EPO had attached great importance to the two sides' strategic partnership, the cooperative projects conducted by the two sides had smooth operation and gained stage achievements in patent classification system, strengthening quality management and personnel training and exchange. They also had profound discussion on the cloud patent examination system launched by SIPO. This year witnessed the thirtieth anniversary of SIPO and EPO partnership, so the two sides had planned commemorative events to memorize their spectacular cooperation history and look to the future. SIPO and EPO would continue to work hand in hand to raise the two sides' cooperation to a new level.

Benoit Battistelli first expressed praise on the achievements made by SIPO and EPO. He said with their mutual efforts, the cooperation between SIPO and EPO would be led to a new stage with better and more convenient services for intellectual property users.
