Nov.4 -- Recently, at the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) in Beijing, Deputy Commissioner Zhang Maoyu met with Philippe Bachtold, Senior Director of the PCT Operations Department of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). The two sides exchanged in-depth views on deepening the cooperation relationship between the SIPO and the WIPO in the area of patent cooperation treaty (PCT) and topics of common concern.

Zhang Maoyu introduced the SIPO's perspective on the future development of the PCT system and the measures it has taken to enhance the examination quality of international applications of PCT and related outcomes. Bachtold expressed his approval and appreciation. And the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the area of PCT in order to help Chinese applicants better use the PCT international application system to protect their intellectual property rights (IPR) overseas.
