The 16th Trilateral Policy Dialogue Meeting among the SIPO, the JPO and the KIPO Held in Japan

 

Dec.16 -- December 8, the 16th Trilateral Policy Dialogue Meeting among the SIPO, the JPO and the KIPO was held in Odawara, Japan. Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office Yoshinori Komiya and Commissioner of the KIPO Choi Donggyou attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The three sides summarized the achievements the three Offices had achieved in different cooperative projects in the past year, gave positive remarks to the progress of the cooperation between the three Offices, and confirmed the cooperation plan for the next year. They also exchanged views on future cooperation between the SIPO, the JPO and the KIPO and reached important consensus. 

Centering on cooperation in areas such as patent examination, automation, industrial design, patent reexamination and training institutions, the three Offices conducted broad and in-depth discussion at the meeting. They also gave information about the latest development progress of the three offices. After the meeting, the three commissioners signed the Minutes of the 16th Trilateral Policy Dialogue Meeting among the SIPO, the JPO and the KIPO, and decided that the 17th Trilateral Policy Dialogue Meeting be held in Korea next year.

Since the cooperation mechanism among the SIPO, the JPO and the KIPO was established in 2001, the three Offices have achieved fruitful cooperation results in areas such as patent examination, automation, industrial design, patent reexamination and talent cultivation.
