Dec.21 -- Recently, Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) He Zhimin led a delegation to participate in the Seminar on the IP Management and Innovation in Africa held in Zimbabwe. He held talks with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office (EIPO) and the Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry (Nigeria) to negotiate and signed bilateral cooperation action plans.
During the bilateral meeting with Fernando dos Santos, Director General of the ARIPO, He Zhimin exchanged in-depth views with Fernando dos Santos on personnel training, exchange of data and patent examination and signed the 2017-2018 Bilateral Cooperation Action Plan after the meeting.
During his visit in Ethiopia, He Zhimin held talks with Minister of the Ethiopia's Ministry of Science and Technology Getahun Mekuria Kuma and State Minister of the Ethiopia's Ministry of Science and Technology Afework Kassu. During his talks with Director General of the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office (EIPO) Mandefro Eshete, the two sides exchanged views on the capacity building, policy making and institutional improvement of the two offices and reached multiple consensuses. He Zhimin also held bilateral talks with Chief Registrar of the Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry (Nigeria) Williams Keftin Amuga and conducted discussions on deepening cooperation in enhancing the public's awareness, work sharing, exchange of patent documents, patent examination, personnel training and tradition knowledge.
