A few days ago, at the invitation by the Patent Office of Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (hereinafter referred to as the GCC), Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) He Zhimin led a delegation to pay a working visit. The two sides signed a new memorandum of understanding on cooperation.

During the visit, He Zhimin held talks with the GCC Patent Office Director General Abdullah Ibrahim Almoqhim and Acting Director General Abdullah Almazroa expressed warm welcome towards the delegation led by He Zhimin and wished to enhance cooperation on intellectual property and explore cooperation in other fields. He Zhimin remarked that the GCC is an important partner for China’s Belt and Road initiative and SIPO would like to promote the communication and cooperation between China and GCC and its member countries.

The two sides briefed each other on the latest development of intellectual property in their country and had profound exchanges on cooperation in the field of patent agent examination, personnel training and automation. The two sides will further enlarge the cooperation scope about agent patent examination, establish mechanism for cooperation between training organizations, enlarge business scope of job training, and enhance cooperation on the instructors.
