SIPO Deputy Commissioner Zhang Maoyu Leads a Delegation to Visit IP Institutions of Argentina and Chile

 

 

Recently, at the invitation of intellectual property (IP) authorities of Argentina and Chile, Zhang Maoyu, Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) led a delegation to pay working visits and signed cooperation agreements with them respectively.

 


During his visit to Argentina, Zhang Maoyu held talks with Dámaso A. Pardo, President of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of Argentina, and co-chaired the Roundtable on Intellectual Property between the two sides. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the latest development of intellectual property rights (IPR), the use and management of IPR, informatization, patent examination, reexamination and invalidation, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the exchange of data. The two sides said they would speed up cooperation on the patent prosecution highway project to provide better services for the two countries. At the round table, representatives of INPI and from the industry had extensive exchanges on improving the IP system, strengthening IPR protection and promoting the use of IP.

 


During his visit to Chile, Zhang Maoyu held talks with Maximiliano Santa Cruz, Director of National Institute of Industrial Property of the Republic of Chile (INAPI). The two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern, such as the implementation of IP strategies, IP innovation and management, and signed a memorandum of understanding on patent prosecution highway (PPH) pilot program, which saw the formal launch of the PPH program.

The delegation led by Zhang Maoyu also visited National Agricultural Technology Institute of Argentina and the innovation center of the Catholic University of Chile with the company of foreign staff, and exchanged views on issues such as promoting IP innovation and management, IPR protection, patent operation and transfer.  (Translated from SIPO Website Chinese Version)
