Jul.18 -- On July 14, Report on IP Environment in Countries or Regions along "the Belt and Road" Route and in Latin America Release Conference was held in Beijing. Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) Gan Shaoning attended the conference and delivered a speech.
Gan pointed out that with the development of "the Belt and Road" Initiative reaching a higher level, China and other related countries and regions are collaboratively opening a new chapter in which regional collaboration and reciprocal and mutual benefit played an important part. In such an opener market, China and other related countries and regions will collaborate and compete fully. In 2015, 3,287 patent applications from China were filed in the countries along "the Belt and Road" route, and China received a total of 3,127 patent applications from these countries, a proof that the patent events between China and the Belt and Road countries were becoming more and more frequent.
SIPO released a 10-volume set Overview of the IP Environment in Countries or Regions along "the Belt and Road" Route and in Latin America, which covered 47 countries along "the Belt and Road" route and 11 countries in Latin America, and Directory of the IP Service Institutions in Countries or Regions along "the Belt and Road" Route at the conference. They were well received by the participants and evoked positive feedbacks. Experts, scholars and lawyers from scientific institutions and law firms at home and abroad conducted keynote speeches on the intellectual property (IP) environment in the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, Central Asia, Mongolia and Turkey.
The release conference was hosted by SIPO, and undertook by the China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS), and attracted over 350 attendants from government departments, enterprises, colleges and universities, scientific institutions and IP services institutions.
