June 30--On the afternoon of June 22 local time, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO) Shen Changyu led a delegation to visit the Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IMA), and held talks with Mr. Makhsud Bobojanov, Acting Director General of the IMA. During the visit, the two sides exchanged views on the implementation of the important consensus of cooperation between the two heads of state, the intellectual property protection cooperation agreement between the two governments, and the deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the area of intellectual property (IP).

Shen Changyu said that, currently, together with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the related departments of the SIPO are actively preparing for the high-level forums on intellectual property to be held in the “Belt and Road” countries. The forums are aimed to boost IP cooperation and communication between the “Belt and Road” countries, promote the construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, and bring prosperity to the countries within the “Belt and Road” region. Among them, Uzbekistan is a country with important influence. The SIPO is looking forward to strengthen its IP cooperation with the IMA under the “Belt and Road” framework, and welcomes Uzbekistan to actively participate in related forums to play a constructive role.

Makhsud Bobojanov expressed the hope that the two sides will take the opportunity of signing the cooperative agreement on intellectual property protection between the two governments and open a new chapter in communication to promote the relationship between the two countries.(Translated from China IP News Chinese Version)
