European Parliament's Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee Visits SIPO

 

BEIJING, May.26 -- Recently, Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of P.R.C. (SIPO) He Zhimin met with a delegation from European Parliament's Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee in Beijing.

During the meeting, He Zhimin reviewed the communication and cooperation between China and European countries in the field of intellectual property (IP) and the achievements it has accomplished in the past years. He also introduced the latest progress of China's IP system development and IP practices. He said that SIPO was willing to provide equal and quality service to all the IP users around the world, Europe included, and that China would implement strict enforcement of IP protection to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among its people.

The JURI delegation gave high praise to the improvement of China's IP law and its progress in advancing innovation. After the meeting, the JURI delegation exchanged views with officers from related SIPO departments on the latest development of the Chinese and European IP laws, the situation of IP protection in China and Europe, and patent examination practices.
