On December 5, Yang Tiejun, Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), met Horacio E. Gutiérrez, Vice President and General Counsel of Microsoft, and other members of the visiting delegation in Beijing.

Yang extended a warm welcome to Gutiérrez. He said the SIPO has been dedicated to providing quality services for patent users and the SIPO is ready to have communications with enterprises from home and abroad and listen to their opinions and suggestions.

Gutiérrez said China is a very important market for Microsoft. He also briefly introduced about Microsoft's patent applications in China and its global patent landscape.
