On September 11, the Patent Information Annual Conference of China 2012 opened in Beijing. The conference was hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO). Tian Lipu, Commissioner of the SIPO, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

After two successful annual conferences in 2010 and 2011, this year's annual conference adopted a theme of "Patent Information Boosts Transforming and Upgrading of Industries". The goal is to provide an international platform of communication and services for global patent information users and providers, as well as intellectual property departments of countries all over the world.
