Guangdong Patent Examination Assistance Center under SIPO was unveiled in Guangzhou on September 22. SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu and Governor of Guangdong province Huang Huahua attended the ceremony jointly held by SIPO and Guangdong province and both delivered a keynote speech at the event. The two sides also signed the Cooperation Framework Agreement on Establishing Patent Examination Assistance Center in Guangdong.

According to the agreement, the center would become the first institution of its kind for invention patent examination outside Beijing after its operation, which would exert an important role in dealing with China's rising application and improving examination capacity.
