Recently, Director of SIPO Tian Lipu met with visiting senior experts Michael Nees and Dr. Martin Jager from German Patent and Trademark Office in Beijing.

Tian Lipu extended the warmest welcome to these two experts and reviewed the cooperation in the field of intellectual property over the years between China and Germany. He hoped this meeting would promote the friendship and cooperation between the two offices.

It was reported that as part of the Sino-German patent examiner exchange program, the German patent system symposium was held to promote examination quality and co-ordination between Chinese and German patent system based on the partnership agreements between China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and German Patent and Trademark Office. The symposium covered German Patent Law system and the practice of patent examination.
