The State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) will increase exchanges with overseas companies in the country to help with intellectual property problems, said a senior official.
During visit to IBM (China) Co Ltd April 29, SIPO chief Tian Lipu said the office plans to learn more about the experience of multinationals in intellectual property rights protection.
Multinational companies in China lead in the number of annual patent applications, he said.
They all attach great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights and have already made it part of their business strategy, he noted.
Representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Public Security, General Administration of Customs and Supreme People's Procuratorate also joined the visit.
