On April 15th and 16th, the Third Meeting of IP5 Heads of Offices including the European Patent Office, Japan Patent Office, Korean Patent Office, State Intellectual Property Office of China and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office was held in Guilin, Guangxi. SIPO Director Tian Lipu attended the meeting. WIPO Director General Francis Gurry attended the meeting as an observer.

The two-day meeting collected the results from the previous stage of cooperation among the five parties and reported the progress achieved. They also discussed the future work plan. The Board also had an in-depth discussion and exchange on work sharing, timeliness of the work, the relations between five parties and other stakeholders including WIPO in cooperation and so on.
