In this process, intellectual property right is a powerful tool to support development. Tian pointed out that China is a developing country, and SIPO takes the cooperation with developing countries seriously, including Africa, Central Asia, the Gulf nations and other countries. China is willing to share its IP development experience, use its limited resources and capabilities to have close cooperation with other developing countries. SIPO would like to maintain closer ties to World Intellectual Property Organization for further and exchanges and cooperation.

Geoffrey Onyeama said that China attached importance not only to the development of IP system, but also to the role of IP in the development process.
