The Sino-Mongolian Seminar on the Intellectual Property Legal System was opened on October 25th of this year in Beijing. This was the first of its kind in the intellectual property legal system area held by both sides, with the objectives of materializing the intellectual property cooperation agreement signed by and between the two governments and executing the cooperation plan of the intellectual property agencies of both sides. Tian Lipu, Director of the Chinese State Intellectual Property Office and Shinbat Namuj, Director of the Mongolian Intellectual Property Office attended the seminar and delivered speeches respectively.
Tian Lipu said that "This seminar will greatly enhance the research on Sino-Mongolian intellectual property protection, mutual sharing of experiences and learning from other's strengths and offset one's own mistakes and also of great significance to further promoting the economic prosperity and economic and trade interflow of the two countries." Shinbat Namuj said that "Under the current circumstance of the ever frequent economic and trade interflow, it is even more important for the manufacturers and businessmen of both countries to know about the other's laws, especially the exchange of information in the context of intellectual property protection."
The Sino-Mongolian Intellectual Property Legal System Seminar was centered on the exchange and discussion of the building and perfection of the independent intellectual property legal system in their respective countries with the focus laid on introducing the Mongolian intellectual property legal system. The content of the seminar included seven aspects: e.g., the third amendment of China's Patent Law, the environment for the protection of the intellectual property of the State of Mongolia, the patent application and the examination procedures of the State of Mongolia, the trademark registration of the State of Mongolia and the copyright protection of the State of Mongolia, the law enforcement procedures of the intellectual property of the State of Mongolia and the comparison between the Patent Law of China and Mongolia.
The mutual translation for the Chinese and Mongolian version of the Patent Law had been completed and the Premiere for the Chinese-Mongolian bilingual edition of the new book was held at the opening ceremony of the seminar, at which, the directors of the State Intellectual Property Office of the two countries presented to each other the new edition as a compliment. Tian Lipu said: "The current publication of the Patent Law of China and Mongolia (Chinese and Mongolian bilingual comparison readings) is another rich fruit of cooperation between the two sides in the context of intellectual property area." And both sides believe that the publication of the new book will play a big role in facilitating the peoples of China and Mongolia to know more about the other's legal system. Pursuant to the Agreement on Intellectual Property Protection signed by the Chinese and Mongolian governments last year, a series of substantial and effective cooperative activities will be conducted by both sides on the perfection of the intellectual property legal system, training of personnel and automazation construction.
