China and Germany will join hands to crack down on infringement of intellectual property and piracy acts

Mr. Weizsacker, former German President pointed out in the press conference which was held several weeks ago after he listened to Premier Wen Jiabao's description of China's situation in this regard that "Under the framework of the WTO, China and Germany will adopt adequate measures to crack down infringement of intellectual property and piracy acts.  And China may regard Germany as its important political partner in Europe."

Mr. Weizsacker said that "The development of the world situation will bring China and Germany ever closer.  We, European countries seek to establish model partnership with China.  We are China's biggest trade partners.  The series of agreements signed by various sectors of our two sides are conducive to the development of this partnership.  These sectors include: climate change, employment and social issues as well as communication and transportation and energy supply.  At present, the signing of the partnership cooperation treaty indicate that both sides put forward much higher demands than the treaty signed in 1985 in terms of cooperation.  Under the WTO framework, China and Germany have adopted adequate measures to crack down on infringement of intellectual property and piracy acts.  We always firmly believe that China has huge economic and technical potentiality.  China's opening to the outside world conforms with the interests of Europe and my motherland Germany.  China may regard Germany as its important political partner in Europe".
