February 28 2005, Commissioner Wang Jingchuan met the visiting French Senator Richard Yung and Deputy Commissioner Tian Lipu exchanged opinions on the latest IP developments with him.  

Mr. Yung, once the director for international technical cooperation at the European Patent Office (EPO), has been acquainted with SIPO for many years.  He was one of the crafters of the close SIPO-EPO technical cooperation.  Last October, he was elected a member of the French senate. 

During the meeting, Mr. Tian warmly congratulated on Mr. Yung's election and expressed the appreciation for his contribution in strengthening SIPO-EPO relationship.  Mr. Yung introduced his new functions and expressed his will to continue working for the Sino-French relationship.
