March 1 2004, Deputy Commissioner Zhang Qin met Mr. Tatehito Ueda, Board Member of  Toyota Motor Corporation.  Mr. Ueda introduced the functions of the Toyota IP department and its IP strategy, patent applications and technology transfer.  Mr. Zhang responded that such systemized strategy was good for Chinese companies.  He also introduced the available remedial measures for patent disputes in China and wished smooth development of Toyota's business in China.
