Deputy Commissioner Tian Lipu Meets Japan and Korea Patent Attorney Associations

 

On March 1, Deputy Commissioner Tian Lipu met with the delegation of Japan Patent Attorney Association and Korean Patent Attorney Association.  Mr. Gao Lulin, President of the All-China Patent Attorneys Association also attended.

Mr. Tian welcomed the Japanese and Korean guests and briefly introduced SIPO's measures in tackling examination backlog, legal work, publicity measures to elevate the public's awareness of intellectual property, training of IPR professionals and strengthening of IPR enforcement.

Mr. Tian indicated that the in-progress Second Coordination Meeting of the Patent Attorney Associations of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea would deliver positive impact on the service awareness and capacity building of the Chinese IP agencies.  The cooperation scheme between the three associations would facilitate the development of the patent lawyering in the three countries.  The increase of patent lawyering will bring favorable impact to patent examination at the IP offices as well as to economic development of the countries.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Electronics Examination Department, Patent Documentation Department and the Receiving Hall.
