China Patent Protection Association was formally established on october 10 in Beijing.  Governed by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA), the nature of the Association is a non-profit organization serving industries, not the same as an intermediary agency or an industrial guild.  As a non-governmental-organization that sits between public and private sector, the Association will ensure the legitimate interests of companies in market competition and promote their healthy development under the protection of IP legal system by facilitating the communication between government and industries.  The Association, with the guidance from SIPO and MCA, will offer legal assistance distinct from that of judicial and administrative authorities to its members who are involved in major patent disputes.
