Guangdong and Hong Kong Symposium 2003 on IPR Protection in International Trade, jointly organized by Guangdong Intellectual Property Office and the Intellectual Property Department of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Shantou Government, was held in Shantou, Guangdong.  Around 300 officials and managers of local high tech companies attended.

The Symposium is to facilitate communication among the two offices and other relating government agencies, giving the updates of the protection systems of mainland and HKSAR to the companies who are active in international trade and increase their awareness of IPR.
