New Benchmark for High Tech Companies in Shanghai: Ownership of IPRs

Owning a title of High Tech Company in Shanghai may be something to brag about for their CEOs.  However, it will not last long if the company fails to accommodate a new standard, IPRs owned.  Whether owning IPRs is now a substantial data to decide a company's destiny of being rated.  Among 1,743 high tech companies evaluated in the past year, 169 were eliminated (9.7%) while several R & D centers under some transnational companies joined the elite group of companies for the first time.

The rating of High Tech Company, mainly including companies from the three sectors of information technology, advanced manufacturing and new material, has been a stimulating policy for 12 years in Shanghai.
