October 1 is the first anniversary of the implementation of << Regulations on the Protection of Layout-Designs of Integrated Circuits >> in China.

By September 30, the Patent Office of State Intellectual Property Office had received a total of 196 applications for layout-designs of integrated circuits. 129 certificates for exclusive right have been issued.

The implementation of << Regulations on the Protection of Layout-Designs of Integrated Circuits >> in China has fulfilled the promise China made for entry of WTO, and it also provides a new way of protection of the intellectual property in China's integrated circuits industry.  After dissemination, popularization and one year's practice, great importance has been well attached for the protection of layout-designs of integrated circuits. It's believed that the number of will be increased for the protection of layout-designs of integrated circuits in China.
