The 5th Beijing International High-Tech Expo was held in Beijing from May 23-25.  The theme of the exhibition was "Entry into WTO, Olympic Games, Business opportunities, Development". The State Intellectual Property Office organized the patent exhibition and this was the first display of Chinese patents at such exhibition. Intellectual property and WTO,the Olympic opportunities were among the popular topics at the exhibition.

 

It is noted that the 4th International High-Tech Expo was organized by Beijing Municipal government and several ministries and commissions.  The organizers of this exhibition included State Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information Technology, Chinese Council for Promotion of International Trade. Though the first time at the exhibition, the State Intellectual Property Office was actively involved in the activities such as the International Forum on Inventions and Innovation, Intellectual Property Forum, and the patent exhibition fair.  Commissioner Wang attended the intellectual property forum and delivered a speech on the protection of intellectual property.
