Changsha, capital of Hunan province in Central China, will apply for the status of "national key industrial intellectual property center" this year, according to the local IP authorities. Their yearly plan includes designating fund management institutions and commercial banks as trustees for the operation of IP funds in key industries, and piloting IP operational modes in such sectors. The Changsha IP Office intends to release new favorable policies to support patent-intensive companies, with a goal of fostering five to 10 such companies in the city this year.
