Nov.29 -- Recently, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) John Sandage led a delegation to visit the Guangdong Intellectual Property Office. Director of the Guangdong Intellectual Property Office Ma Xianmin received the delegation. The two sides held discussions on topics such as international patent applications of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

Guangdong is famous for its intellectual property (IP) work, and ranks top nationwide for the number of patents it creates and owns. In recent years, with the implementation of the "go global" strategy for enterprises, the number of international patent applications of the PCT in Guangdong kept growing. It accounted for more than half of the nation's applications for many years. During his visit in Guangdong, John Sandage also visited and held talks with enterprises and agencies that had large number of international applications of the PCT.
