Sep.14 (China Daily) -- China now has the largest number of microorganism-related patents around the world, according to a report released by World Data Center for Microorganisms at the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences last week. The report said the country has made tremendous developments in this field from 2001 to 2015 and that it has published the world's second-largest number of related documents, behind the United States. To date, China has stored more than 182,000 bacterial strain species in 33 preservation centers.
